Agreed on Inquisition. I thought it started off really strong, then just kinda meandered for 40 hours, and Corypheus was an absolute putz who couldn’t do anything right, which means he sucked as a villain, or at driving the plot in any way.

They’ve said they’re committed to overhauling the entire game, but given the amount of work it would take to turn Anthem not only into something worth playing, but something that is sustainable and profitable over time... I honestly wonder if they should just cut their losses and dump everything into making sure…
Destiny 2, as usual, but also pulling some stuff off the backlog. First up: Adventure Pals! I was sold on it the moment I saw the hero using a giraffe twirling it’s tongue as a helicopter.
We’ve got two Switches, one for me and one for the missus, and will have two copies of Animal Crossing. I was hoping we’d both be able to live on the same island and play together, but it sounds like that may not be the case. :( Hopefully we can still visit each others’ islands.
I was very happy with this fight after the lame Undying Mind last season. Also Legendary was shocking difficult, even for a group of 980's. We went in thinking we would roll over Inotam without much issue, then they fired a single lightning bolt and nuked 5 of our 6 in one shot. From that moment on the entire fight…
Yakuza Kiwami. I played Yakuza 0 first, so I’ve got a lot of the backstory, and I can’t imagine how weird the original Yakuza must have been without the context that Y0 provides.
The Bank in Splinter Cell: Chaos Theory. It’s a damn near perfect sandbox.
Oof. I like pretty much all the caster pairs, so I’ll miss these guys. I do hope Uber and Mr. X stay, as they are my favorite pairing.
Just started Control a few days ago, and I was really struck by how Jesse doesn’t have to run through the usual “Chosen One” rigmarole. There’s no burden-of-responsibility “I can’t do this!” before learning to accept the responsibility of the position, and her subordinates aren’t sneering and saying “Rawr this is…
“While a few of the Dawning items can be bought for Bright Dust, the game’s non-premium currency that can be earned by completing bounties, good luck doing that.”
Joanna Wellick, Mobley, and Trenton’s sudden and seemingly impact-less deaths make me think this as well. It seemed to me those happened to lean harder and harder into the “We can undo it all” angle that Whiterose and Angela were pushing, so to cut that off, and then leave those threads just dangling, makes me think…
The article didn’t declare her the first woman pro gamer. It (correctly) pointed out that she was the first woman to compete in the League of Legends Championship Series.
I’m fine with how everything turned out in the end, but I do have to call at least minor bullshit on the Whiterose Mystery Machine, simply because something convinced Angela it was true. She had seen it, or at least claimed to, and she’s not an idiot, so it had to be something truly convincing. So to fake in that…
I’m sure I’ll get crapped on for this, but Outer Worlds? Disappointing.
Destiny 2's Season of Dawn. It’s making a crazy good impression in its first week. The Sun Dial is a fun activity, there’s an actual story mission (with more to come over the season), and I’m enjoying the Obelisk grinds to improve seasonal rewards over time. All that plus my regular playing to climb the Season Rewards…
No matter where it is, though, it has to be situated in the broader context of Bioshock Infinite. Constants and variables, “There’s always a city, there’s always a man,” etc. So even if it’s set somewhere new, it would be hard for it to do anything surprising unless it flatly contradicted Infinite’s canon.
Infinite wrapped a nice bow on everything (and Burial at Sea was just gilding the lily), so from a narrative standpoint I’m not wild about this news. Hopefully it’ll at least be a good game.
I do the same thing, watching the reaction videos. While I’m glad I could enjoy the movie in relative silence, I’ll admit there were moments when I really wanted to jump out of my chair and cheer. It reminds me of the story my dad used to tell about going to see King Kong vs. Godzilla. It would run every year, and…
Destiny 2; more specifically, I’m thankful for my clan that makes playing D2 every week so much fun.
