You’re right that the biggest thing is actually wanting to quit. I smoked for about fifteen years and finally quit in Jan. 2012. I went with the patch which worked remarkably well for me; that and pot helped too.

My dad smoked four packs of Camels per day for forty years. When I was small I remember him getting up at night to smoke. Having children fairly late in life was his motivation to quit and he did it cold turkey.
