If you look at what happened to the missiles fired at American ships in Yemen, you can see that these ships have some pretty good methods of countering missiles. They’re a lot less vulnerable than you’d think.

I know this is kind of beside the point of your post, but I’m not sure where you got the $14 billion a piece number from. Maybe the Gerald Ford costs that much, I’m not sure. But I know the Nimitz class carriers were around $3-4 billion a pop, and every other ship on that list is much less than that.
