Nah, I read it back when it happened, but I re-read it a few weeks ago just for fun. It was almost as good as reading it the first time.

One year, but you can renew it annually until the car is ten years old.
And indeed, it has developed an excellent new issue where the power mirror folding is out of sync. Push the button and one folds in and one folds out. Push it again, the in one folds out and the out one folds in. Manually put the mirrors “in sync” and the same thing just happens again. I actually need the mirror…
Hah! It’s a default song on iMovie, that’s why.
God I just read that post a week or so ago. It’s insane. The dude goes on for like 900 words about how it wasn’t really his fault. I think he actually makes some decent points, but the tire pressure thing is hilarious.
There is no way your Range Rover is going to stand getting upstaged like this. The Great British Breakdown Fest is on!
Fortunately, the Range Rover has never once actually stranded me. It breaks a lot, but it’s mostly just annoying little stuff. I suspect there won’t be a time when the two cars are broken at exactly the same moment.
I’m going for 20K, whether the damn car likes it or not!
What’s going to happen with the Aston Martin is broken at the same time that the Range Rover is broken? Over the course of a year, this is certain to happen at least twice.
“of that caliper.”
No way! We are going to solve these issues and it’s going to be fine!!!
This car was basically a one-owner, and from what I gather he maintained it really well. I have all the records. I think I’ve just had an unlucky streak.
At least the Aston has a warning sound for that. Happens on a BMW, your into the next lane and over the divider before you know it.
Z4 passenger seat was nice. Surprisingly little leg room. Cool looking interior, even though this was the first gen model. Decent ride quality. 5 out of 5 stars.
Great Story! I noticed in most of their marketing materials the cars are “parked”. We know that they are really broken down.
Since posting the first column I’ve received e-mails from a dozen Aston owners, and they’ve all confirmed theirs have been pretty reliable, with a few issues here and there. Let’s just hope my issues are early on and I’ll be good to go after this..
Front right tire pressure was probably 1-2 psi too high.
Hah, we forgot to turn them off. It was just a 15-minute ride to the dealer, and we met them there and did all the necessary paperwork.
Hey Doug,
I imagine that in some parallel universe, the Aston actually chose you, based on it having reached some level of sentient thinking and upon reading all your articles about your Land Rover it decided “oh, you want to see British un-reliability!??! I’LL SHOW YOU BRITISH UN-RELIABILITY!!!”
