yeah, so... North Carolinian here. first off I hope that people realize that “the state” is not in support of this bill. it was a state-level power-grab (small government republicans at their finest) in response to Charlotte passing a toothless anti-discriminatory “bathroom law” that would allow trans folks—

man, I am not up to date on my Ciara gossip at all. last I remember her being relevant was 10 years ago when there was a rumor going around that she was secretly a dude.

I know, Wisconsinites, I know... lets hug it out.

hahaha, I like you. and yes we all probably would.

Melissa Mcarthy and Amy Schumer are famous for acting and comedy... Amber Rose is famous for who she’s dated. I’m not saying she can’t have causes or that her causes aren’t worthwhile, I just think she’s holding on to her 15 minutes of fame for dear life.

it seems like a desperate attempt to stay relevant.

its just a perm and some clever highlighting.

she has to get ahold of her nose contouring though. looks weird af.

add a laptop and a few cats and that’s my work-from-home life.

many people change their mind partway through an attempt. its a cry for help nonetheless.

psst... she probably dyes it ;)

I had a very similar experience. I grew up in a very urban area, went to college in a very urban area, and continued to live in urban areas for many years after that. I never thought anything of the car alarms of the break-ins or the shouting or the drug dealers downstairs... that’s just life, you know?

my mom is an arch-conservative and also a huge health nut. I actually asked her about this one day as she was watching a fox news tear-down of Michelle’s program... her response was basically that she hated everything about the Obama’s... and Pelosi, and Harry Reid, she launched into a spiel that left no liberal

ugh, its only going to be in the low 60's here in NC tomorrow. the worst!

the people who have gotten commercial success off the show have all been straight cis white women.

I wish you the best of luck! I think a lot of agencies are getting better at representing and presenting their POC clients in a way that doesn’t ‘other’ them as much as it used to. I’ve been on the other side of the equation, hiring (commercial, not fashion) models, and there’s definitely less blatant exoticism in

it’s not the sole reason why, no... but if you don’t think it’ll have an impact you don’t know the advertising industry.

More compelling story, less rape/gratuitious violence/characters acting like huge dumbasses in order to futher a deeply stupid “plot”.

the result of this kind of untethered manufactured outrage will be that advertisers will be hesitant to use models of color at all. why bother if someone on the internet will find something to raise hell about or interpret some aspect of your ad as ‘racist’ no matter what? you want a photo of an older child cheekily

I feel like she’s supposed to look determined/pouty, but you know... child models are tough to direct when it comes to nuanced expression. but i agree it wasn’t a great photo to go to print with... the girl on the right looks bored.
