I think it would be interesting to see that movie but with no Joker at all. He is only seen in the fractured mess of her mind as a confusing/menacing/sexual shadow figure. Perhaps much of the world can be seen in animation overlay -

Rick and Morty covered this in half an hour (less) with more meaning and introspection than this entire series. Bring in a decent writer at the end if you know you’re in deep and at least construct some explanatory dialogue.
