Something like this could eliminate the need for x ray machines, invasive searches, NSA goons, and precheck. Everybody that enters the airport just walks through a wifi scanner. No gun, no bomb, no beep. Only anybody that beeps gets the NSA Special Anal Probing Procedure.

This would be pretty sweet, as we currently have a Google home, Echo, and Xbox One in our household. We find ourselves talking to the wrong system all the time. Most frequently: “Hey Xbox, turn on the lights”.

A lot of that has to do with population density and the friction and anonymity that creates. Alaska has really low population and low density so if you commit a gun crime, chances are they’ll know who you are pretty quickly. NYC or Los Angeles, it is much easier to shoot someone and then disappear into the population.

Amazon will acquire Ring, make the cloud recording service free for all Prime customers, and they will turn their AI to mining front-door video data.
