I don’t think anyone enjoys the Stanford band except the actual band members, in which case they’re more than welcome to get together, put on their TGI Friday’s uniforms and play music in some non-University sanctioned event or venue.

So banned for one football game...Well it’s nice to see a school extend their lack of accountability to a program that isn’t football or men’s basketball. So, progress?

Every time I read or hear about the Stanford band, I think about that scene in Ferris Bueller between the secretary and Ferris’ sister: “What a little asshole”.

Though the board recommended that the band be suspended for all of next year to fix its “total lack of accountability and responsibility,” the school opted for a lighter sentence and will instead suspend the band through the spring.
