Does this mean their vote suppression efforts will actually hinder their election fraud efforts? That would be some sweet irony.

I will never not be creeped out by CG!Leia...
The Republicans just lost a vote in the Senate. That’s not inconsequential.
The final margin looks like it will not trigger any kind of recount, short of a moore funded one: If every provisional and military ballot is for moore, it still won’t crack the 0.5% threshold necessary to trigger a state mandated recount.
And that is how you win.
In the grand scheme of things it doens’t mean much for alabama. The republicans will find some squeaky clean milktoast to run next time and he’ll win on brand name and saying the words tax cuts and second amendment a bunch. Best case scenario, some people towards the centre realize a democrat…
Oh of course, there’s no one solution. But I have been a lifelong liberal in red states and half the time we have no one to vote for and the party doesn’t put any money behind anyone, and the rest of the country calls us cousin fuckers.
But they lost, man. They lost. That’s what matters.
Damn I hear ya.. I feel like everyone here wanted Moore to win because they enjoy being miserable.
You mean out of the votes that were counted and not suppressed (hmmm, I wonder which side in this deep red state was suppressed) more than 50 percent voted for a Democrat. We’ll never know what the overall count was, but it was higher than reported.
It’s quite delightful!
.
It’s kind of remarkable — I was talking with a friend about it, and she brought up a recount, and I was, like, um, I think they decided to destroy all of the paper ballots, even after people sued to stop them, and I don’t think they can have a recount!
This is the thing I have been yelling about for a number of months:
Dear Mr. President,
Still not optimistic for 2018
Pew has him at 32%. I think we’re near the tipping point where Republican candidates recognize that a Trump endorsement is bad news.
I honestly thought that a racist, homophobic pedophile was going to be elected to the US Senate. After the way the last two years went, I didn’t think there was a prayer of Moore losing.
Yes.
I was a political science major, and I have been doing a lot of thinking about what a Jones upset would mean. It’s pretty significant, and requires a fair amount of nuanced thinking. So I apologize in advance if this gets kind of dense and long, but here’s the analysis of someone who studies and thinks about this…
Now, let’s make the Republicans that supported Roy Moore to the very end become stuck to that shit forever.
