Shinkai’s one of those guys along with Edgar Wright where I don’t even need to see anything, just a blank poster with their name that says like “ya boy has a new movie out soon” and I’ll be there day one. 

But some ideas are so obviously bad that they can’t survive even the most fervent technocratic fever dreams.
