While I like the features that is offered in HTC Sense and some other custom UIs, I'd be really pissed off if I got a new phone with old software. So it is pretty appalling that some manufactures think is appropriate to ship newphones with outdated software, and no option to update to the latest hardware...

@jamn: I notice buzzing, and hissing with the standard Apple earbuds, so I'd imagine that it would only be worse for buds that you pick up for $3.
