I go camping. I don't get to go every year (this year was a total bust) but 7 days in the Tetons & Yosemite in 2007 and 7 days in Acadia in 2009 were awesome. I couldn't even get a cell signal. I'd go into town once a day in Acadia to make sure there weren't any important messages (we were in the process of

I keep not only Kosher Salt and Table Salt around for various cooking projects (although I bake less frequently than cook so I tend to use table salt less) but also coarse sea salt for my salt grinder on the table.

In this tutorial, they suggest creating a Get Location profile and then calling it within your SOS profile. Tasker has been updated so this is no longer necessary. You can simply to go Misc — Get Location and put in a 30 second time-out. This eliminates the wait step as well. #tips

@vinterchaos: My computers tend to last 5 - 7 years. I pay a bit more to get this. Why should I pay for expensive smart phones that don't last as long as my Mac?

@vinterchaos: Don't you think a phone should last more than 2 years? Maybe at least 3? I am getting the G2 for Christmas but I don't have $200 to drop on a phone right now when the one I have works fine. And as you can see, the issue is not resolved in new models or they wouldn't be posting this topic at all.

@Alexander Ward: Have you tried Cyanogen? I thought he used a custom bootloader and completely wipes your phone first.

This is one of the biggest failings of Android. I'm running Cyanogen so I've already rooted, and I have a G1 which has very limited space on the hardware. Enough that you simply can't run reasonable apps without rooting and using and SD card. The problem is, once you move your apps from the hardware to the SD card,

I have a laptop. I take it home every evening with me. When I shut it, it goes into hibernate. I usually don't plug it in when it's not docked.

Dammit. I used them specifically for the cross-browser syncing

No heat is a bad idea in some areas of the country during the cold months. LOWER your heat, don't turn it off completely.

Seems like the original article's server is way hosed. Lifehacker Effect?

@battra92: They're not different. And I'm very aware New England is not effected by the recall as we generally don't use the same eggs the national brands use. (Brown eggs are local eggs and local eggs are fresh and all that). However, I believe in supporting the local economy which means buying from my local

I buy my eggs from a local organic farmer at the farmer's market and have since the season started.

@onaclov2000: Ditto. Discussing with my husband right now.

That's funny. We're in the process of doing this to an old mirror above the fireplace. Since the mirror is painted onto the wall, we're going to use epoxy to directly adhere the molding to the glass.

Mmmm mosquito breeding ground...

@Samo: I believe so, but there might be something about surface tension in wine and vinegar that assists with the process. Of course, leave fruit juice out long enough, you'll have vinegar.

@Samo: I think you need something with sugar in it to attract them. I'm not sure soy sauce would work. A bit of wine is the only other thing I can think of that would definitely result in drowning.

Does anyone know something other than ugly fly paper for standard sized house flies? We seem to have a bit of an infestation at our house.
