To be fair, in actual pokemon game if you know the opponent setup it all comes to type advantage as well. You just select counters and it’s decided. The biggest flaw so far is that simple attacks are usually more viable than specials due to timing and stats don’t matter much.

asking to remove pokestops is like asking women to stay at home to avoid rape. Increasing police patrol frequency around popular pokestops is a valid option though.
