Keeping up with the Karcrashians?
Keeping up with the Karcrashians?
And get called a bitch by the Right...more than they do already
My wife and I were just saying the same thing, nothing has been said or discussed at Republican debates that require explanation. Oh the contrast
That’s why I think it’s ridiculous when people point to the ratings as an indicator. Car wrecks and Kardashians get ratings too
I’m the same way, we watch them all as a family (well the Dem ones, my wife can’t watch Trump without getting furious so for those my only company is scotch) and I’m the more the better when it comes to debates. To me, just the fact the fact they refer to each other as Senator Sanders and Secretary Clinton shows the…
With him warming up the crowd beforehand. Or a roast! For like ten minutes beforehand our Veep can roast both candidates, do the “no seriously, I love these two...” and then jump into the questions
We are so used to seeing the White House as the big win but it means very little if we lose everything else. Republican statehouses prevent progress by challenging equality and civil rights efforts, going after voting rights, opting out of Obamacare and Medicaid expansion, de-regulating and privatizing in a race to…
Losing from the statehouse down is absolutely what is killing us, the state and local level effect day to day life the most. The way things are set up we have have a consistently easier path to the White House, which is great for the Courts, but leaves us screwed in terms of policy and programs because state laws will…
Which is especially wrong considering the genre. It always amazes me how people who complain about being outsiders can seem so quick to make others experience that feeling.
Science fiction requires it even more to me, because it usually involves world-building. So rules for their universe are created, often meticulously or at least with care, so to have them dismissed makes the world less real and like it doesn’t matter to the author. I hate it almost as much as I hate when a character…
I agree, io9 was extremely inclusive, like science fiction itself, which meant varied voices and different messages. It seems less so already, especially the comment section, which I no longer enjoy because you see far more exclusionary attitudes and, “you just don’t get it”condescension
Yes, we now live in a countrywhere a presidential frontrunner brought up dick size during a debate. You can’t un-ring that bell
That is common for creative people, I think you need to just go for it, throw yourself into in completely. Then come here for smiles and encouragement as needed.
Well thank you, does that work for just this thread or more? I don’t know exactly how it works
I think you already have interest from some here, and I’m sure there will be more as you get further along. We need all the unique and creative voices we can get, so keep it up, go you!
The problem is just that they don’t go together, and there was really not anything quite like io9 anywhere else, which is why the changes suck
Trump will to Rubio, after farting into the towel. Cruz will try to do it to Kelly who will then take him down, at which point Trump will call him a pussy before immediately denying he said it.
It’s hard to enjoy a story that rewards my brain for large parts and then suddenly demands that I shut it off; just pulls me right out of the story. I think we are so used to accepting ridiculous science that doesn’t even try that when we get something that feels real it stands out and feels like it respects the…
And now I’m back to lamenting changes to io9, which seemed like the perfect format to promote something like this, which sounds interesting. All I can say is go for it! Whenever it gets hard for you, just come here for support and you’ll have it
