Imagine how angry these kids must be to *want* a conversation with an Amway salesperson.

It would be cool if, in return for serving as a scapegoat for the gun epidemic, the mental healthcare system actually got some more resources and attention.
Great, now even fewer people are going to buy my depression as the sole reason I’m not a professional athlete.
I’ll bet your wife loves this opinion.
WTA rules give her a year of protection, not sure if it’s extended because of medical complications.
I read her comments about her suspension to mean that she knew of ESPN’s policy, disagreed with it, and still chose to speak up. Like the suspension was justified under her employment agreement, but she thought it was worth it to take a stand. I guess you’re right in the end, screw ESPN either way.
He’s not the consommé professional, that’s for sure.
Weinstein is under investigation in multiple jurisdictions. This whole line of reasoning is nonsense.
He’s got to be talking about Kanye, right?
“Oprah is a sports figure” is a pretty bold take, even buried amidst this other shit you’ve written!
Welcome to the life of an NBA player while Vlade Divac’s an active GM.
This was absolutely the result of too many Adderall, a philosophy of language paper assignment, and Warriors games broadcasting late, right??
I’m almost positive this is a curable conflict if everyone consents. And if a firm can wall off the negotiating team or one party’s section or whatever, even better. Sports/entertainment law seems like such a small world that clients probably go along with it to keep a powerful agent/firm.
I’ve been wondering this too. The confusion surrounding the ‘therapies’ Nassar used to abuse victims does not say good things about informed consent, the medical community, and patients’ rights. It’s also very hard to imagine we would allow that sort of confusion and stigma to surround a health issue or treatment…
This is entirely correct, and utterly infuriating. Attempting to blame their planned shitty litigation strategy on insurers is really top notch, too. “Well, you see, Mutual of Omaha has a very strict victim-blaming requirement for all damage claims, and we would never breach a contractual term!”
I’ve been wondering the same thing about other youth sports, especially those with such isolated, individualized efforts..tennis especially.
It’s even more frustrating because we *have* some of those laws, and it doesn’t seem to matter. School administrators, many coaches, some medical staff...so many of them knew, and had mandatory reporting requirements, but did nothing. Even now it doesn’t seem that the local law enforcement, FBI, the state AG, or…
Don’t worry, the Tallahassee PD investigated and said everything checked out.
Is there any simplified explanation or flowchart or something describing *how* an NFL sideline theoretically works? All of these rules seem fine I guess, but I have no idea how they should work or who should enforce them in practice. Who does a player normally talk to or check in with after leaving the field?
Just a confluence of the calendar year ending and Hartnett White’s relative unimportance to the larger GOP. The Senate would have to act to roll her nomination over into the next congress in the new year; Senate Dems balked (though they didn’t refuse for all nominees), and the GOP didn’t put up a fight. Bipartisan…
