Ghost Protocol would have been my pick. It never stops moving, the set pieces are incredible, Cruise is finally surrounded with a great team (Pegg is an inspired addition) and yes, Cruise’s commitment to practical stunts is insane. It is also hands down the best of the series. No question.

Perfect Call for 2009. Regeneration showed that DTV action could compete with the Hollywood majors. John Hyams is so deserving of bigger budgets and bigger stars. A far more interesting director that Colin Treverrow, David Ayer, Zach Snyder and the other pedestrians that have been handed the keys to major franchises.
