Lol... there are a lot of people with 2nd homes where I live, and omg the postings on the local email bboard about “bear spotted at 9:30 am on Mill Road” or “we saw a coyote!”  Like sure dude, that bear is just going to sit tight until the game warden comes by to tell him to go home. 

We have a flock of backyard chickens and keeping them safe and predator proofing their coop has been an ongoing battle! Right now it’s the hawks. I fucking hate hawks. Their shadows creeping over me while outside give me serious anxiety.

That said....I have never lived anywhere but the slightly rural suburbs and I would do almost anything to keep the wildlife out of my yard. And have done. Or at least have watched from the window while the man of the house did the dirty work, lol. Some of us are literally just chickens even when we ought to know…

Lol, I live on the outskirts of the burbs - the houses here all have 5-10acres so lots of rural landscape and habitat. The new neighbors who moved in across from us were like, “Gosh, I just don’t know what all that howling could be coming from. Do you think it’s dangerous??”

I’ve lived in the same house in the ‘burbs for 20 years and we’ve had at least a dozen houses sold in our neighborhood since Covid.
