Totally understandable. You guys have been going through this for far too long without meangingful change...I’m starting to believe only the death of older generations may tip the tides....but even then, I’m not sure if it will end institutional racism.

My dad has three grown daughters, and while he is a very nice guy - he doesn’t like dealing with difficult things. I’m sure he thinks the same way! Luckily, they can do fine even with a dufus dad.

That’s a good point- some people are not good guests, and may make your life miserable! Saying “no”, even to family, is always an option.

I love this! In design or coding, we’ll sometimes throw in a “sacrificial duck” - something we know is bad, to give managers/reviewers something to focus on to get rid of, in the hopes of saving the rest of our work from unnecessary changes.

More like a massive entitled-white-guy-who-can’t-handle-feelings problem. They go shooting people or they go into politics to whine about guns and family values - either way, they’re making the world a worse place and need to step aside .

I really think people who prefer to ignore ugly truths are scum. Silence only helps the oppressor, and I think these people are complicit.

This is a good place to start

nitpicking cause I feel like being an asshole: It’s definitely not meaningless...it literally shows that blacks are targeted more than whites, based on their percentage of the overall population...but we already knew that!

I thought the rhetoric was usually “nah, ya’ll just imagining things” or “playing the race card”....not “oh shit, this is affecting all of us!”

There are TWO parts to this problem - institutional racism & colorism is definitely one (a HUGE problem affecting all aspects of society), but overall police brutality is definitely another. Yes, police murders disproportionately target black Americans, but there’s still a problem of American police being too violent

Yeah - I can’t help but think anyone who complains about taxes is a greedy asshole. Yes, tax dollars could and should be used more efficiently and to help citizens not corporations - but the solution isn’t less taxes....it’s electing more responsible representatives.

I guess it depends on which ones, because every one of my Korean and Chinese friends and their families have one...I’m not sure about Indians, though....

I LOVE cooking, and while I definitely look my nose down on store-bought cookie dough and some other things, I stand by rice cookers!

Plus police endangering her life by firing bullets into the car of people who had done nothing wrong.

I can’t understand detaining her after murdering her partner. Police do not care about people, period.

Plus, why did the cop need to see his ID if he was only a passenger? Was it only because he indicated he had a concealed carry license?

The sad thing is, he wasn’t even legally required to indicate he had a gun, unless the cop asked first. I really hope him trying to be forthright and honest didn’t lead to this coward

It does sound like he’s crying, because he just realized the consequences of being a coward with a gun. What a piece of shit, accident or not - none of these people deserve to be police officers if they’re that scared of the people they protect.

I hope you’re being sarcastic or speaking from the perspective of a poorly trained officer when you say their #1 goal is to go home alive...because no.

I’m in this same situation! I don’t like the industry, or what my company does, but I LOVE THE PEOPLE! Kind and considerate owners/managers/co-workers are worth their weight in gold!

I’ve seen multiple employees request days off months in advance, only to end up scheduled for that day, and told it’s their problem to deal with.
