Good for you Leah Remini.
Good for you Leah Remini.
I think that they just looked up his name on google and that was it...
nothing says revolution like the elite setting up and taking part in a capitalist program, which will likely only benefit the elite, and then them literally saying it's a revolution
I laughed really hard at the dog licking the bongoes before playing them for some reason
I kept seeing celebrities had changed their profile photos and tweeted about "revolution" and "change" and I thought it was for something serious like human trafficking but when I found out it was all for a celebrity-owned streaming service I just couldn't even.
combine cake in for the ultimate triple threat.
Thank you. It's clear from the beginning of that little tirade (i.e. "these people") that person has little to no idea what s/he is talking about.
But an appealing option for someone on SNAP or other benefits like SNAP, because it means they can get more food for their dollar value. So taxing it is targeting people who may not have the education or the funds to choose healthier options. Fruit by the Foot is cheap and full of corn syrup and other gunk. The…
According to another article I read they are removing a 5% sales tax on fruits, nuts & vegetables.
This decision was made by the reservation. I imagine they've taken these things into account. They did mention they plan on having health classes. Presumably some of those would cover nutrition considering that's the point of the initiative.
Well, given that the tax is being collected and administered by a fairly local government, I'm hoping that the money collected will be put to good use. I wouldn't trust Arizona or the national government to do something like this effectively but I am cautiously optimistic that the Navajo Nation actually understands…
Which would be one of the things that the tax is intended to fund? "Health classes" was on the list. Shopping intelligently would fall under that heading.
While I agree with the premise, just an FYI items bought with food stamps (most junk food in stores can be bought with food stamps) aren't taxed.
Who's "we"? This law is being enacted by the Navajo Nation. I'm not sure they have the money to subsidize healthy foods to the point that they are freely available to all members. I feel pretty confident in speculating that they definitely don't have the money to put together whatever transit system you imagine that…
A 2% tax on junk food isn't going to cause anyone to starve. Let's not be dramatic.
No but when is there ever a guarantee on any policy being attempted for the first time? At least give it a chance to actually fail before deciding that it's not going to make any difference at all.
"Sir, sir! Let's punish them by making it more expensive, without changing the system that caused them to make those choices in the first place!"
What part of "forced sterilization does not benefit the woman who undergoes it" do you fail to understand?! Also, the woman is mentally ill. Can you really say with certainty that she was on meds, in therapy, totally rational, and thus able to rationally weigh the pros and cons of the decision to accept or deny…
I definitely don't speak for everyone, but this complaint is another way for a guy to miss the original point, and decide a woman subjected to bullying doesn't deserve basic human empathy.
It used to be 5 but then the doctors started using a ruler, rather just taking men at their word. Jk these stats keep changing as more studies are done.
