Yeah, I really enjoyed Girl Most Likely for the same reasons. It was so bizarre and (intentionally) cringey and poignant. It made you sympathize with the characters who would normally have been throwaway jokes, and feel weird and uncertain about the characters who were the protagonists and love interests.
