I’m the fucking worst at it- making friends is hard! What worked for me was finding a hobby full of people like me. For me it was comedy, but there might be something different you could do? If you have an interest in comedy, though, take a class- it’s a great place to make friends.

I highly recommend Leslie Marmon Silko. Ceremony was part of my senior year AP English curriculum and to this day is still one of the most stunning books I’ve ever read.

Thank you so much, this is so helpful! Definitely saving this response. They sound delightful and luckily I grew up with rescues who were abuse cases so a dog taking time to learn how to dog and to warm up to me is something I’m used to.

Oh man, talk to me about your rescue grey. I really want to adopt one now that I have space for a bigger dog (and no more size limits like my last place). My old boss used to rescue them and they’re so lovely.
