This isn't about the "They can see this information" as this article makes it seem (Posts available to "everyone" are of course public to, well, everyone. So of course everybody can see it, friend request or not), but rather that your public posts now pop up on your follower's wall/news-feed even when you turned down…

I'd actually use that. I often find myself in a position where I feel like giving New (to me) Series X a shot. I'd happily buy a season box set, but not blindly. So being able to watch the pilot ep for just a buck would be quite nice - I wouldn't need it afterwards anyway (either it sucks or I'll get the DVDs).

An excellent idea, though it seems a bit unwieldy in shoulder-strap mode, and the price is fairly insane, considering that you're just buying a fancy shopping bag that lets you avoid some basic layer-ordering work.
