And this is the review where I finally stop reading what the critic has to say and just skip to the comments. As she has stated over and over again, the critic is a huge fan of the book and the Robert Wise movie. I never read the book and am only somewhat familiar with the film (I did see the bad CGI-fest one) so

I also get the two confused.

Shouldn’t “Wayne” be his middle name?  Isn’t that usually the way this works?

I have a Punisher shirt. My wife bought it for me. She just liked the logo, and I like it too. I’m going to stop wearing it because I don’t want to take a chance on being associated with assholes like the ones in this article.

I thought Capaldi’s second series ranked up there as possibly the best of modern Who (have to give it some time before deciding if it’s better than Smith’s first season), and Heaven Sent is a near perfect episode of TV that I would recommend to anyone (not just sci-fi fans).

I enjoyed this episode much more than the first. Better paced, more interesting story, characters felt more lived in, and the Doctor officially out of her discovery phase and just getting to be the Doctor. I was a little disappointed the TARDIS came back so soon as it would have been a nice diversion to take away the

I would argue that Routh would make a better Superman now.  He has aged into the role.

Whatever... obviously his scariest book is On Writing.

I’m late to this thread, but just wanted to pipe in that Storm of the Century is a very good mini-series and is possibly the best thing King has ever done for TV. It’s the only original King TV series/mini-series that feels like a King novel.

Ah, that makes more sense.

“the most confusing, inexplicable, laugh-out-loud display of “What the fuck?”-ness I’ve encountered”

I assumed Beta Ray Bill would put in an appearance.

I was hoping it would be about some sort of super assassin country that goes around assassinating other countries.

We suspected, but then he punched that moon landing conspiracy nut in the face on camera and all was forgiven.

I feel the same way about virtually every popular thing I enjoy. I hate “fans.”

No way man. Neville’s killing of the snake is arguably my favorite moment in all of the books.

I was about to defend Stannis but then I remembered the whole Shireen thing and... yeah... pretty much.

He also seemed to understand that his father was kind of terrible.  Not sure you’d get that level of self-awareness in the current regime.

But who will play which role?  I could honestly see it going either way.

I disagree. I thought she fit in pretty perfectly. I was disappointed to see her go at the end of the episode. It would have been interesting to go the whole season with a character who is a sociopath but actually competent and see how that affected the other characters. What if their plans did start working? What if
