That’s ridiculous. It’s not like they were making cartoons out of Rambo, The Toxic Avenger, Robocop... oh.

Stranger Things is already presented as a show/movie from the 80s. This is just making it a cartoon on top of that. But then, I suppose a cartoon version of a live action show/movie is pretty 80s, too, so long as they have Frank Welker voicing Dart.
Some people aren’t well-suited for this type of gameplay. They usually stay inside the bubble, where there’s plenty of other stuff going on.
I love this graphical style; totally looking forward to this
I started out with the expedition, and kept pace through the first 10 waypoints. At that point I started a new job and just did not have the time to dedicate to the family, job, and expedition. While I was keeping up, It was fantastic.
“As someone who played E:D for a while, this sounds grueling and unrewarding.”
I used to play in VR which was awesome, and I figured out how to run a second VR app while running E:D so that I had a virtual window that I could move around the cockpit so I could watch Netflix or read ebooks when I was doing those long drives. It kinda made it feel even more real.
Using “universe” interchangeably with “galaxy” is not reflective of the editorial standards I expect from Kotaku or GMG. Thank you.
Most of the space they were passing through didn’t have stations. They weren’t docking, it was all fuel scoops.
Honestly, if it wasn’t for VR, I’d have never sunk as much time into the game as I have. I haven’t played in a while and wasn’t part of this expedition, but I did take an exploration trip to the center of the galaxy and then to Colonia and back. I’d have never even gotten halfway if not for VR.
The gif header image gave me flashbacks of visiting the eye doctor.
The displays are technically the same specs, but the Index uses an LCD with 3 sub-pixels per pixels, where the Vive Pro uses an OLED with 2 per. This results in a significantly sharper image and way reduced screen door effect (supposedly). The index also has ~20 degree wider Field Of View.
What causes the “screendoor effect”? That’s my biggest issue with VR currently. Is it the resolution? Refresh rate? or Frame rate?
Darth Plagueis, baby
Oh damn, I love this and hadn’t considered it yet
I’ve tried to start people off on War in the Pocket because it’s my favorite and I’m not so sure it’s a good representative of the series. I honestly think it’s the only work in the entire franchise that’s consistently cogent and actually at least addresses Gundam’s elephant in the room: war sure is bad, here are a…
IMO, the coolest thing about 0080 is how it calls out the Gundam franchise for decrying war while still enrapturing kids with violence and explosions to sell toys.
When I saw 08th being touted as one of the best, I was already gearing up for a “And also there’s 0080.”
So to not see it...I’m gonna ask that you let me join you in that “What the Hell?”
Fun fact: the “goth chick from NCIS” is 50 years old. Also, if you type into Google it goes directly to the actress’ wikipedia page.
