There are some real comedic gems buried in there. The Clipperton Suite story is a favorite. Agreed on the depression and addiction all around though. Clearly, Wallace had a strong understanding of both. Not to mention, drugs of the prescription variety and otherwise.

I'll raise your bluff! I'll read it again while simultaneously listening to the audio book and tying the noose I'll hang myself with once I'm done!

I've bought the hardcover version THREE times in the last two years, because I've handed two copies to people I know will probably never power through it.

Yeah, it's a real fucking slog for like 300 pages on the first read-through. For me, it got truly addictive once there was focus on the AA meetings and halfway house. By that point, I actually started to connect and empathize with the characters. At least, the adult ones. Then also the tennis academy kids. But mostly,

I read it twice just last year, and I'm about to embark on another read through. Yes, I hate myself. Why do you ask?

Clearly, you’re forgetting the next best weapon in the game, the UMP9.

Count me in on those upvotes. I've gotten a whole hell of a lot more mileage out of Manners, where I find Phoenix to be fairly spotty.

He was wearing a nice pair of black New Balance, with a blue N on them. Almost identical to the shoes I was wearing that night. Also, he's funny as shit.

I think we need an unranked competitive mode for this reason. I personally enjoy the rule set for Competitive, but I’m there for the ranking. It’s the only carrot Overwatch has to keep me playing, and (no offense) people who are playing Competitive for shenanigans need to stay out of ranked matches.

Well, they probably had the same experience as me, where that 200 SR does actually make the difference between ranks.

I can’t stress enough how toxic it is being a dedicated solo player. Getting out of gold or below is Sisyphean, given how hard it is to tell when players are legitimately shitty or just trolling. On the other hand, being on the edge of diamond and getting deranked by Masters and Grand Masters who are throwing because

I’m less frustrated by my specific SR than I am the sheer amount of toxic, stubborn or just bad players you run into early in the season. Having played every season so far, I gain the most SR mid to late season, after all the Bastion, Hanzo and Widowmaker ONLY players are in the proper ranks (Bronze, obviously).

Nah, homie, Bandai model kits don’t come painted. There are Gundam kits that are hundreds of dollars (see: Perfect Grade) that have nice, color separated parts, but they still require decals and paint if you want weathering or any of that.

The better question is why Humanz had so few. Is he…is he okay?

In my mind, it's very much playing to the strengths of a given style, and understanding what kind of story is being told so it can influence the design decisions. Obviously, as a sitcom, this probably works for them. Scrolling by though, the backgrounds jumped out at me before the characters did, which seems…not

I'm always torn between two arguments about animated sitcoms:
1.) Animation is expensive, shading takes time and budget, and they're trying to run as lean as possible. or 2.) The creators of the shows don't have a specific vision in mind. All they know is it should be animated, and therefore can easily meet the

I didn't want to be the guy who called out the animation, but I keep eyeing this and trying to find some kind of appeal to it. The backgrounds and background elements are actually well done, but the character designs and lack of depth are really bugging me.

The obvious answer is a used FR-S/BRZ/86.

Hmmm. Yeah, I’ll probably not buy this one. I have the first Splatoon and played it for a few weeks before never touching it again. I did try the testfire thing for Splatoon 2 and...yeah, didn’t really have fun with it. Now, if they took a shot at a TF2/Overwatch style game, I’d be all in on that...

And I was calling water wet in an attempt to sidestep any unfair criticism of the animation choices that were made. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
