I actually like these things. I was just an Audi tech a few years before these things came out. And Audis were nightmares without air suspensions and complicated technology. And I just have zero (zero) tolerance for things that drip oil or catch on fire.

I am quite happy that people are keeping these weird ass cars going. Not really because they (the cars) should be kept going. But mostly because auto techs that specialize in these types of cars also deserve vacation homes at the beach. And their children should go to U of Penn and not graduate with debt.

I just bought a 98 Ford explorer XLT 4x4 for a little over $2000. It has a dent in the hatch, zero rust, and ~83,000 miles. The interior is mint. It still has the Monronet sticker and all the paperwork from the original owner.

Because it has a new clutch, it may be worth half the asking price. But that new clutch is still connected to a vehicle who’s time spent on a tow truck could be measured between oil changes.

If this is considered a fair price in the allroad market.

Noooooooooooo. Nooooooooo. Oh hell no. COVID prices are long gone. This is a $2500-3500 car.

Age has little to do with social immaturity. Would you deny that Trumps famous hissy fit at the end of his term was immature and childish?

And your analogies and assumptions make you an inexperienced child.

Did I miss a memo or something. Didn't realize being a privacy advocate makes you a conservative.

That’s kinda my point.

Umm something, something billionaires. Something, something happy the people working at fastfood places won’t have their jets tracked anymore. Something, something bitter I’m not a billionaire.

I imagine the conveyor belts are more a result of the harsh cleaning environment.

That’s why we have such an awesome highway system. Remember after “the war” one of the key things they learned was how easy it was to cripple a country buy cutting foot supply line.

Oh that is precious.

But they are worth it. I've used these things far beyond their ratings, and they haven't flinched yet.

No they knew before. It’s just a way to suck money from investors and various governments.

There’s a joke in the automation field. Basically people are running twords automation thinking it’s going to free them from work.

My second (I think) job as a “professional” auto tech was at Ford when the second gen explorer was getting to the end of their warranties. I remember the 5r55 having a few teething problems when they were first introduced, but nothing catastrophic.

I’m a happily married father of two amazing children who is taking care of his mother in her retirement because she took care of me in my childhood.

Couldn't they just, you know, push
