Me too on the film adaptation. The question is: which one to start with?! Parable? Xenogenesis? Difficult choices!

I agree. The graphic novel format is distracting to me, I prefer text only. But there are a lot of people that might find this a more accessible point of entry. Might appeal uniquely to younger people as well.
