While this is true, what is your point in relation to the article? Are you in favor of the unfettered capitalism (free trade) that would give us cheap Chinese cars. Or are you in favor of the tariffs (government intervention in industry is largely viewed as anti-capitalist) which would protect American workers from

Adding 50 to 60 percent tariffs to over a trillion dollars in annual imports wouldn’t create inflation? Sure, bud.

ANIMORPHS!

It’s all true. People are talking about it.

Ignorance is not a defense.

I cannot understand why Musk is doing this

Somehow, some way, I’m sure that the “investor class” will manage to get the consumer to pay for it all.

I would much rather have a Hummer EV over a 1969 Charger any day of the week. Being saddled with a 1969 Charger would definitely make me suffer, but not sure why they felt the need for the unhinged rant against the hummer. Seems like they are just a jackass.

*Shrug* I have a Hummer EV and I love it, even better if I had been “cursed” with it instead of having to buy it.  I’m a happy “jackass”.

Neither is sitting in a corner with your arms crossed screaming no until you get what you want.

It’s a Catch-22. If the unions succeed and the automakers make big concessions, then they’ll be incentivized to outsource and increase automation beyond where we are now. For the unions it might be short-term gain for long-term pain. The trajectory of unions has followed the trajectory of manufacturing in the US.

I saw a car with a flat tire this morning.  Where’s the article about that?

I just looked them up. They still have pretty awful reliability problems that places them right down with the likes of Land Rover. So... not sure what changed between when they came out versus now.

Many here have a defective view of what is ‘best of all time’.

My dumb answer made the list!

Have you seen some of the stuff they’re asking for? 32 hour work weeks and (not or) a 40% raise over 4 yrs. An “or” for these might be tolerable, but both those demands happening in parallel are crazy (IMO). The financial impact to the automakers (or any large manufacturer) would be profound.

You want to play stupid games like illegally blocking entrances and harassing the cleaning crew you win stupid prizes like getting run over.

Counter take: Kia/Hyundai have always made corner cutting garbage. They just always got a pass by enthusiasts because they products looked good on paper.
