This “project” continues to be one of the most over-exaggerated projects ever.  The condition wasn’t bad at all, it doesn’t need much work, and it’s not really a project.  It’s typical maintenance level shit on a 10 year old bike, which has amounted far more blog posts that it really should have by no.  It wasn’t

I work as an analyst in the industry. The average transaction price of the Escalade is already $115k right now. It’s not a stretch to say this will do well, even at that price.

Nah, I’m not getting mad about this one. The Escalade has never been affordable and is not going to be a commonly-owned car for most folks - this car is beautifully designed and an EV, just leagues beyond the previous generations. Sure I can’t afford it and will be in a Kia or something but by the time this hits

When has EVs meant going small/efficient, especially for GM?

If it was closer in size to the X7, it wouldn’t be an Escalade. I think Caddy will eventually make an electric XT6, which is more X7-sized. You don’t buy an Escalade because you want something small. You buy it for zero-compromises 3 row size. The rear seat in an X7 is strictly for kids.

Likely thinking of the Equinox EV; Blazer EV was never 30's

Would have been interested, but I’m not paying for OnStar, and with no Carplay or Android Auto support it’s almost certainly going to be junk without the OnStar subscription.

It’d be interesting to see a breakdown in contribution to American (U.S.) economy from a union-built car made with foreign parts vs a non-union-built car built in the U.S. with all American parts.

It has both Car Play and Android Auto capability.

Doesn’t the 4C lack any kind of assisted steering? That’s as direct a steering box as one can get in a car. I seem to recall a lot of complaints about the steering being so heavy for maneuvering at slow speeds, but a lot of praise for the steering feel when the car was on the move.

Android Auto and Carplay are free - GM is doing this because they believe there is a $300B (yes, billion) revenue stream there that they should get out of subscription services.  Because I want to pay GM a monthly fee for my car’s infotainment system to not suck.

This is some gatekeeping bullshit you should be ashamed of.

Why are you even here? You’re not a car enthusiast. This is a site for car enthusiasts.

It’s likely the suppliers are under strict contracts to provide GM/Ford parts at pre-negotiated prices. If GM/Ford go to other that might violate the contract. As well the other suppliers that could make the parts are going to be well aware why they are being approached so you can bet they will want a premium to take

Every 5 series ever made is generic. That's the point. If it was too wild you'd be upset too.

That reddit user is clearly a child, as they don’t seem to understand how network traffic works. This is taking me back 20 years to when I first got cable internet: everything old is new again.

#7 spoke to me.

Well I was interested in the new GM EVs.

Hey this car you sold me keeps catching fire.

Weak list.
