https://vimeo.com/132367344 I did this as a little editing exercise, cutting it to The Ink Spots. I think the imagery gains something from total desaturation, on repeat viewings it's easier to spot just how well Miller visually tells a story.

I wasn't putting any of the blame at Hirsch, just Disney's erratic and unnecessary treatment of the show, which might get more consistent ratings if the audience actually knew when the show would actually be on. Then again I've been burnt before with Nickelodeon's treatment of Korra.

I hear they choose the scheduling for Gravity Falls by spinning the frozen husk that is Walt Disney's body on a giant calendar wheel like the Mayans had.

I'm unaware of any Japanese adventure games, would you recommend any? I loved Machinarium and have played that three times, such beautiful artwork and a carefully told story.

I've been saving Tales from the Borderlands up to play, should I just go ahead and start the three episodes now? The Cowboy Bebop sound enticing, I was worried I might be a bit detached because I've never really played Borderlands that much or know its world. I'm loving Game of Thrones as well so far, it's genuinely

I think people just go through phases, sometimes comedies don't match where you are emotionally and shows that used to make you laugh now make you feel hollow. How are your tastes on Adult Swim? As I'd say The Venture Bros. and Rick and Morty are some of the best shows on television period, whilst also being animated

LA Noire still has some lovely moments and I'd say the narrative was one of Rockstar's better ones (though not quite up to Red Dead's standard). It's still the only game where you can have a shoot-out in the set of Intolerance.

I just prefer what DC are doing on TV weirdly far more than the Marvel Cinematic Universe, because in my opinion TV is a much better medium for comic book universes than film, that's why both Avengers felt so rushed.

I'm just on Episode 2, Season 2 of Rectify and it's beautifully written and empathetic television, dealing with faith and that smalltown mentality with such grace. Halt and Catch Fire is next on my list thanks to Todd VanDerWerff's repeated recommendations.

It reminds me of a modernised Buffy, while also genuinely doing something new to the zombie genre (at least to me).

What other TV shows have people been watching during the scheduling summer drought? I just finished the first season of iZombie and really enjoyed it, I'm a fan of Rob Thomas' dialogue in Veronica Mars and Party Down as well.

I am drawn to Hannibal in the same way Will Graham is. The show is like a baroque Venus flytrap that swallows you whole and leaves you digesting its imagery weeks later.

Wanted: Need new place to type on internet. Former film site is no more. One of the smartest and most influential film websites in the two years, gone with a quick goodbye. Where can I chat about film with the commenters I only recently finally started engaging with? Hello, to all of you, I'll chat about anything.
