Luscious was purposely trying to destroy Andre's new found spiritual calling and teach him a lesson about the fact that no one will ever see him or any of the Lyon's boys as individuals. In everyone's eyes, they will be seen as someone to use or to battle(compete) with.

What is bad and cheesy about this show? I see it as sophisticated and complex. Someone, please answer this question.

I see my dad in him too, not all parts, just a glimmer.

She's trying to build up her street cred. She is trying to get some 'hood' in her. She still has designs on getting back on the throne of Empire, but she does not yet know that Luscious is not dying, she threw in her lot with Hakeem. Can't wait to see the look on her face when she finds out about Luscious's second

This show is completely original, of course there are allusions to all of the classic night time soaps, but this show is original. The elements of pomposity and extravagant grandeur that everyone is calling camp come straight from the Old Testament in the bible, not from soap operas or Shakespeare or classic english

This show is more nuanced than people give it credit for being.I'm in the minority on this point, however.

And you are that person?

I agree.

Nobody is all bad or all good. She loves Andre, she sees the neglect and lack of concern of these people for Andre and she does not like them because of it. Her loyalty is with Andre, but if Andre ever got the company, she would eventually ditch him, Luscious can see that in her.

I suffered from bipolar, it is physical and chemical but it stems from emotional and mental dysfunction that accumulates and then becomes physical. It takes a lot of introspection and a commitment to understanding oneself. I have to say that some people are probably to far gone to heal themselves with introspection

The show would die and be buried with Luscious if they kill him off, I hope the writers know this. They should write a plot about Luscious going to Africa for a miracle cure.

Luscious immediately told Jamal that he and Anika would take Lola and that one of the maids Juanita would love to have her there. Jamal agreed to it by just giving Luscious a stare.

I can only speak for myself, but this show is like going outside and getting a breath of fresh air and sunlight after you have been in a stuffy house. It's fresh and new. Oh, and of course, goooood!!!!!!

'True dat'

Hats off to you, all hail to the King!! You are on point , check out some of my comments to others in this post. As for Andre, I disagree with your assessment. Andre is a repressed artist, a sensitive soul and he understood Luscious's need for a business man in the family to navigate the mainstream business

LOL!!!

Luscious is married to Empire, Cookie and Anika are 2 mistresses competing to be Luscious's number 2 (Empire is love number one). As for Anika, she is young, dumb, and egotistical. She is out of her depth with Luscious. She does not understand the dark side of being Luscious's wife, something that Cookie had to

The characters don't disappear, they come back when the writers feel the need to bring them back in. It's realistic, this is how people deal with friends, lovers, business partners and associates. Sometimes you do not see or hear from people in weeks and then all of a sudden the person reappears in your life.

Andre is a repressed artist in this family of Artists. He has musical talent that no one has noticed. I do not think he knows it either. Andre is a sensitive soul, just like all artists and he sacrificed his artistic talent because he understood Luscious's need for an educated professional in the business, someone

Luscious has always felt this way about Rhonda, Andre's wife, since Andre brought her home. He just didn't reveal his deepest feelings about it til now. Luscious is not interested in healing and nurturing people and helping them with their issues. Luscious's solution for everything is to build up 'Empire'.
