This is the conundrum. If you want these sort of games for the price point gamers demand, SOMEONE is going to be subsidizing that development.

Well, their handheld line maintained a lot of similarity (and backwards compatibility) for a good line while.  It’s entirely possible that’s what they’ll do.

Nintendo has actually been one of the most consistently backwards compatible of the “big three.” About the only time their consoles haven’t been backwards compatible at least one generation is when they completely changed the storage medium.

Ya know, it really shows with each fighter showcase. Sakurai basically composes a 30-45 minute love letter to each character he and his team adds, the history, the tales behind each character, THEN he’ll eventually get into the move set and techniques involved.

It did happen in the 90s. And the 00s. And the 10s. The only thing that’s changed is that it is a lot easier to learn about it happening and far more quickly.

The big problem is that Mass Effect was a series with two nigh mutually exclusive stories running concurrently; what the game was telling you, and what the game was showing you.

I think the ending was very poorly executed, especially at first.
