Both the original Infiniti QX50 and the original BMW X1 were psuedo-sportscar crossovers that drove very well...and that were replaced by more-successful, but underwhelming products with vastly different philosophies.

16k for that GX is a bargain. 

$16K for a GX with practically no miles that cost ~$60K new is a friends&family deal from a rich person who doesn’t need the money.  This is such a no-brainer that it’s hurting my brain to think how anyone would ever say no.

but have found a 2012 Lexus GX460 (one owner) with 5,700 miles, garaged in summer and driven only seasonally by the part time residents. Serviced regularly with all records, $16,000. But it will not be available until the owner returns in the Fall. Should I wait?

Yeah, they should contact the seller and make sure he knows they want to see the truck when it is available. That’s an awesome deal for a super low mileage Toyota truck. I wouldn’t be surprised if someone bought it sight unseen at that price. 

To the Lexus GX guy: JFC buy that car now. I was looking for one in the summer and you couldn’t touch 2010s with 100k miles for less than $19k.
