@Frequenter: I've been in the UK for quite a while now and I've never seen this can design used anywhere. ..and I drink quite a lot of canned drinks, so I'm pretty sure I'd have noticed if they had used it.

I was lucky enough to fly on the Concorde from London to New York a few months before it was decommissioned. I can summon up that trip in just a few words: LOUD, cramped, but incredibly, mentally fast.

We could compare them to the 'real thing', and find them lacking.
