The stone that was in Vision’s head was the Mind stone, which was part of Loki’s scepter (which Captain America retrieved).

What makes Horizon Zero Dawn unique is the Focus.

Also made this tangentially related pic because it gives me such joy to do so.

Alternate (slightly depressing) caption

...alternatively;
“I’m thinking of replacing the Washington Monument with a life-size statue of my penis.
What? No, it’s supposed to look like that.
I have a great penis, the best penis.”

Now playing

So, this is basically The Darkest Hour but with soldiers vs. ghosts instead of yuppies vs. aliens?

Huh.. I hadn’t realized Apple’s new CEO was Hugh Darrow.
It’ll all end in tears come 2027..

That would explain a lot..
Depressing-but-relevant-story-time!:

A few years back, my dad died unexpectedly while away on holiday in another country and my girlfriend, not really knowing what to do, tried to distract me from my grief by suggesting we drive over to next town and go shopping.
However at the time she

The video isn’t of the mod the article is about, it’s an example of potato textures.

To be fair, it’s not made clear in the article that the video isn’t the same mod.

It's likely just a guy with a steadicam jumping onto some kind of dolly/crane platform that keeps him off the floor and moves him backwards while the corridor spins - you can see the camera getting higher shortly before the rotation starts (its especially noticeable if you look at the shelf on the left).

The shot

It's a micro figure, it's tiny compared to the usual mini figures.. see Brickman's reply to Zequio's comment to get an idea of the size difference.

I'm not saying something like that wouldn't be possible, but it'd be fiddly as hell to give it moving parts.

I don't think we have anything along those lines at the moment, though your concept reminds me somewhat of a Tokamak fusion reactor (the most awesome looking fusion reactor ever.. not that there are many to pick from xD ).

I think the problem is at this point that even if we had the capability to do this, the energy

I've seen this idea discussed before.. the problem is that mirrors tend not to be perfect reflectors, some light energy is lost each time it reflects, so rather than holding the exact amount of light that went in, it would drain fairly rapidly.

If we could come up with a way to reflect light without any loss, then

It wasn't that they didn't need him - they did, which is why they jumped at the chance to get a real pilot to fly the mission rather than simulator-trained newbies.

But the situation was so dire, and secrecy so important to the continued operation of NASA, that they were prepared to go ahead with the plan with whomever

Er.. you can refer to her by her first name if you want, but she's generally referred to as Brand throughout most of the film.
Although to be fair, since her father is also in the film, that could cause confusion.
I don't think anyone was confused by this though.

..also, it's "would be", not just "be". If you're going to

Well for a start, I'd say never assume people will react sensibly in a crisis (especially not in a movie). A world war would also take its toll on severely depleted resources, so the natural reaction is unlikely to be "Hey everyone, let's go look at this thing millions of miles away!" regardless of how amazing it

"New ways to capture and store oxygen bear"

But the real question is, what will we DO with Oxygen Bear once we've captured him?

Surely this should read 'Johnny Cab'? xD

Actually IIRC they never said it could cover an entire city - the whole point of putting it onto the train was that it would end up at Wayne tower where a load of conveniently placed water mains met up, and that would somehow vaporize the water for the rest of the city. I think. It's been a while since I watched the
