It is the privately owned ordinary cars that are the true losses, because those are cars people cared enough for to tranship rather than replace. They meant something to someone, and that is a shame to lose those emotional connections.
Poor wording, I believe the crux of it is the dealer wouldn't sell the car without the add ons, making the low price false advertising.
Unfortunately, dealers have really powerful and effective support from state level legislators. They write big campaign checks, they wave the numbers of people they employ in front of said legislators, and they sponsor local little leagues and what not. in return, they get unwavering support for the existing franchise…
I can't wait for dealers to become obsolete. One of the things Tesla has done right is showing that they're just not nessecary
using low prices to lure customers in, then forcing them to pay for add ons.
