I'm curious how much it will go for off contract. I was hoping for like 200$ ,impulse buy territory, since my inspire 4g is a little on the huge side sometimes. At 100 with contract its got to retail at 400 right?

Just replying to myself here as it won't let me edit. I wrote this in a rush before running out to the gym and realized how douchy this comment looks when I got back. My b - seriously though I'd probably go for the full computer vs. the tablet thing.

I'm not really trying to make a point or anything, but I think for a dedicated photographer who wanted a really workable solution the 11" base macbook air would be a better choice. 300$ and 1lb more for an actual, you know, computer?

Yeah I'm not really disappointed with the speed of my fully specced out 13". I just plowed through portal 2 with max settings and no hitch whatsoever in gameplay. At this point I'm holding out for new GPUs as the 2ghz C2D is still fine for 99% of what I do with this thing. Unless it's a big redesign I don't really

I think it's relatively obvious that iphone is doing the 'tick-tock' upgrade thing with their iDevices. iphone 3G, 3GS. iphone 4, iphone 4GS. Iphone 5 to (hopefully) have a bigger screen, faster data. Just makes sense.

I've tried to figure it out but the site is somewhat inconclusive. Does this work for ALL eye-fi cards or just the newest ones? 70$ for an 8gig card is a little steep but I have been on several trips this month where I've wished I could directly(ish) send to facebook without having to unload my files on my mac

Again only based on my experience owning a samsung focus and an iphone 4 the retina display wasn't that big of a plus. It's just a high rez baked in to a small screen. The focus had a terrific screen and due partly to WP7's very pretty design, sharper colors it seemed. It was a solid piece of hardware.

On the nexus one, specifically, it's hardware. The screen has issues with multitouch, so you have to artificially slow down your typing speed to compensate. Android's native keyboard is definitely still garbage, though even after 2.3 supposedly improved things. I'd rank it iphone > windows phone > android. I've

The capacitive buttons on the nexus one didn't bug me so much , but I had a samsung focus and it was INFURIATING to use for this reason.. I think one of the biggest reasons I ditched WP7 is because I'd accidentally exit a game and then the very thought of waiting 23490938 minutes for my game to reload just made me

No, but what does make sense is a clicky button flush with the glass, similiar to the first generation touchscreen blackberry (I forgot the name)'s integrated keypad thing. That was a bad idea because you had to click down for EVERYTHING, but this usage situation would allow them to slim down the bezel more to

Wait, I own 2011. Where do I learn more about this? Can I do it with a vanilla xbox 360 or what? The CAW mode is the best part about those games.

Hey, I'm sorry. I just saw this response. I'm not knocking gawker down a peg. Gawker is being disingenuous by insinuating that AOL is the 'youve got mail' dialup ISP of old when gizmodo vs. engadget is a definite battle for ad dollars among two overlapping demographics. So the plan is obviously to make this

Yes, they are. My roommate has been walking over to the apple store and staring longingly at them every day since release. He's really pathetic like that.

No, I mean that they own a significant amount of top blogs out there - from a traffic and advertising standpoint. Gawker media has fleshbot.

AOL, as it sits now, owns more blogs than gawker media, and owns BETTER blogs than gawker media. Just thought I'd throw it out there. I wouldn't expect you guys to do a 'full disclosure' statement or anything, but yeah.

He's a blogger. I remember when gawker tried to harass the guy who harasses people professionally on O Rielly's show. Basically the gawker guy acted like a gigantic pussy (after blogging up a storm) and then walked away. It's pretty fair to say that most people in the internet are hiding behind total tough guy

Casual commenter here. I've switched to reading the m.(gawkersite).com versions of deadspin, gizmodo and gawker, and eliminated kotaku jalopnik and the rest completely. I highly recommend it - all the content, none of the ads! I can read comments through that interface but can't comment so it has to be something

No DC metro stations?
