Judging the situation, let's take it a step further and call this stuff "swill."

Simple. Insist that guests with poor taste in alcohol to take their inferior leftovers home with them. On the other hand, say nothing to the folks who are leaving delicious stuff behind (you wouldn't want to remind them and risk seeing the goods walk out your door).

As long as the skin's not broken, I've found that frequently blotting on some vinegar helps with itch and stinging (if you don't mind the smell).

I second the soy candles and also want to add beeswax candles to the list. Anything else just messes up the air with chemical fragrances and impurities.

Many pharmacies carry alum sticks.

Medication is fine and dandy, I guess, but I would highly recommend therapy - either with or instead of meds. Instead of taking medication to merely mask issues, take it at a low dose to make things manageable but indulge in therapy at the same time and address the real issue(s) at hand.
