I think its success is down to it not being written like a normal battle manga (its a lot more character orientated for one thing), which helps it to appeal to both genders and those who wouldn’t normally read battle manga. I feel that, at the end of the day, the quality of a live action adaptation partly depends on how down to Earth it is and how knee deep in anime-trope-s**t it is.
