Thank you for letting me know this, I think I’ll go see it in IMAX 3D the next time around.

“with a stunning $69 million.”

My husband and I saw it a matinee this afternoon. It was an almost full theater on a Friday afternoon at 1:30 so I think that bodes very well for the box office. I was very pleasantly surprised to see lots of boys and men of all ages from preteen to senior citizens in the audience. This isn’t just drawing female

I had tickets to go see a 3D showing of Ghostbusters this afternoon, but when I showed up at the theater all of the 3D showings for the movie had been cancelled for the day because the projector for that auditorium was broken! I was so disappointed. :( I was able to switch my tickets to Sunday though so I’ll be seeing

Woohoo! $$$$$$$$ I hope it continues to crush it.

My mate Bob saw it last week and said it was awesome (and his boyfriend is a proper geek so I take that as high praise). In laws are watching the kids tomorrow and I can’t wait.

Can I just say that I’m so happy for these ladies but especially for Leslie. This woman has kept me laughing for over 10 years now. I used to watch her on Youtube and never understood why she never made it to the big times. Here she is and she’s doing it well. Stay winning sisterfriend!

That’s because all other groups expect black (American) people to do the hard lifting for them. As soon as the term black lives matter came up, I've heard other communities of colour complaining that it's not inclusive. Well sweet thing, when was the last time the Chinese community stood up for the black community?

Same. Super over the criticisms of BLM that go “well this other issue is also bad so why doesn’t BLM care about that?!” If there’s something else you think needs attention then get your own movement, bro.

It's so horrifying that we expect BLM, a movement started in part to voice the lack of social and political power, to shoulder the burden of all of the world's ills. I get her point and she has issues that concern her perhaps more than BLM does, but she mistakenly thinks there can only be one priority. Or one issue.

I discussed this issue earlier on the Muse but I feel they are relevant here as well.

If a reboot was wanted, make it so these were the new generation of Ghostbusters, who were trained/mentored by the original cast. BOOM. There you go.

... why did Star Trek have to be remade? Why did Fright Night? Why would literally any massively popular and moderately original movie be remade? Because the movie business is, first and foremost, a business, and they want to make money.

Non-black POC need to stop expecting black Americans to stand up for their plights and causes when they never show their fucking faces when something is going on for us. Nor do they combat anti-black American biases within their own communities.

To be fair, this piece was generally considered to be a fairly unethical hit job (for instance, the writer goaded MIA to have the truffle fries and then used it as a point to illustrate her privilege, as we knew from, as i recall, released tapes of the interview). Also, Ben Bronfman is in fact the son of a billionaire

I would like for people, esp. other people of color, to stop acting as if black people are in this privileged position where everybody takes our concerns more seriously than they take the concerns of other marginalized groups.
