You and others keep perpetuating this ridiculous interpretation of “have the right to be believed”.

I’m sorry, but I think it’s ridiculous for the “right to be believed” to extend to the family of the accused. I do expect every unrelated party to take a victim’s story seriously, but it seems pretty unreasonable to fault a spouse/parent/child/sibling for believing in the accused’s innocence. I feel the same way about

Monica Lewinsky was 22 years old. She was not a child. She made a stupid decision, but as far as I know she never said he coerced her. I don’t know enough about Bill to comment on the other part of your comment.

It could be that you are taking the phrase “right to be believed” too literally. Nobody has the “right” to have any particular utterance accepted as the truth simply because of the subject matter. Not even on silly things that can hardly be disputed. (“You’re favorite color is blue? Why haven’t I ever seen you wearing

Yeah, but that BBC dude, tho....“All those island nations who can learn to swim....”

That’s a decent point. I wonder how many people think the Leonidas of Rhodes thing is either a joke or a part of Greek mythology, and don’t realize it’s a legitimately recorded achievement that hadn’t been bested for 2,168 years. That’s not something you see every day.

Considering Trump will face bi-partisan impeachment proceedings within the first 5 months (Hillary will face partisan impeachment proceedings in 2018), I think the VP is particularly important this year.

If the VP doesn’t mean anything why not pick someone who will make the ticket more interesting and compelling. This guy adds nothing. He doesn’t bring in any votes. He’s not a + in any way I can think of. I’m not even complaining I’m voting for her so hard when the time comes it’s not even funny but still, I’m

I wish they would go back to the “Looser of the presidential election is VP” system.

As we now know, Reagan was riddled with Alzheimer’s, definitely during his second term, and very possibly in his first. There is a reason that we joke that Reagan’s second term was actually Nancy/an astrologer/and George H W Bush’s term.

Andrew Johnson, Chester A. Arthur, Teddy Roosevelt and Lyndon B. Johnson all succeeded to the presidency from the Vice President office due to assassinations.

Two of the last 11 vice presidents we elected ended a term in the Oval Office.

umm Dick Cheney did some stuff that substantially altered the direction of America, if you recall.

I completely agree! I didn’t want to write an essay, but there are just so many more VP candidates who not only possess more liberal ideals than Kaine, but also reflects the changing face of America (Rep Ellison, Al Franken, Elizabeth Warren, Raul Grijalva, come to mind).

But she’s putting her money on the moderates. I

I’ve had LEEPs on my cervix twice, but all of the sudden became very concerned about oral and anal cancers. I called my doctor and he said that he wanted to talk to me about both screening and vaccinations. Vaccinations! I’m 37. My doctor is awesome.

I automatically thought Dr. Orchid would be a woman, because of the “Orchid” part... which I guess is also stupidly gendered because why can’t a dude be a pretty flower ;)

Same.

My mom was a lawyer and a judge when I was growing up. When I was really young, most of her female friends were also lawyers. I was about 3 or 4 when another of her co-workers asked me if I wanted to be a lawyer when I grew up.

I’m HPV-negative, but I’m over the age to have the vaccine. I don’t even know if a doctor would give me the vaccine or if insurance would cover it, but if I could, I’d go get vaccinated. Anyone in a similar situation been allowed to get the shots?

Well...this won’t impact me too much, since roughly 95% of the concerts I attend these days are Phish and they couldn’t care less about folks recording shows!
