This argument operates with the assumption that Trump neither gains nor loses voters. His supporters are his supporters, and if they haven’t realized he’s a monster by now, they won’t. So every vote not cast for Clinton means that Trump is that much farther ahead with his unchanging support.

Amazing but I wish she’d add this doesn’t mean you have to give into political cynicism. This is one race. Third parties and more inclusive politics don’t spring up from one race. They have to be nurtured locally. They need a good representation in Congress to do anything. It’s not do or die on this one race.
