“We should build our own module”
In a lot of sci fi stories, there is this thing of people finding an ancient space ship or space station that is abandoned and empty of anything but the husks of whatever lived on it centuries ago. The systems are still working, but alien and strange. I’ve played video games and read books about this setup.…
But no kid dreams of being an accountant nor owning a Camry.
It’s a buffet, and I am a big fat guy. So rather a lot. :-)
Knowing Germans, still against it.
Everyone buys vehicles based on wants. Who are you or anyone to decide how much use justifies “needing” something?
Fair point. I considered a Mazda5 before landing on the Mazda3 precisely for the sliding doors and small form factor. I think the Odyssey requires a premium diet?
PS. NATOs solution seems to be wind and solar capacity.
I have been in Sweden when the effective cost of gas was $12/gal+, and you still find PLENTY of car enthusiasts in Sweden. In fact, they have a real passion for old American V8 barges that get single-digit fuel economy. They just don’t drive them very far. Even at those prices, you can afford a Sunday drive in…

Though the Ukraine certainly seems to be showing that my opinion of the Russians being a paper tiger was the correct one.
I know, eh? I’ve been shoving LS crate motors in like, everything!!!
You don’t need an SUV or truck for all of that. There are other options.
Have a coworker that bought a full-size V8 powered luxury SUV early in the pandemic, I mentioned the fuel costs but they said not worried as gas is cheap so “no big deal” to feed, now all day every day complains about burning around $10 of gas a day just to get to and from work (sorry, told you so).
i was just gonna start riding my motorcycle. then it decided to go from 80+ to the high 30s in the mornings so looks like im waiting another week.
Gas is expensive? The solution is to drive less and prioritize your routes. At least, that’s always worked for me. May not work for others. It also matters where you live.
