Trading oil for electric in the long run is really trading one massive environmental problem—global warming—for a different massive enviromnental problem—battery waste & large scale mining.

No one is taking it seriously and it’s not like we have a good track record of recycling lithium batteries, if we are crap at it with cell phones and laptops why will we suddenly be good at it with BEVs?

Nobody’s talking about ongoing support of software in older EVs either, leading to a doomsday scenario in my brain where your car gets updates for about as long as a $200 Android phone does, and discarded just as quickly. I can’t wait until we have to reconcile these things — it’s going to be great.

Yes, I know that. In my OP I said you have to let the membership expire, but then you lose any grandfathered sharing. That was my point. Bottom line, you can’t use this trick if you need to keep grandfathered sharing accounts active (which I do).

85 is the ethanol content, which IS renewable. 15% is the not renewable part. [although, if you look up the definition of E85, it could be up to 51% ethanol max. still not 85%]

Out of curiosity I went to see how much they charge for that MIG-29 edge of space flight. Its only 55,000 feet so not really space, but you do get an aerobatics flight program as well as mach 1.7 and high enough to see the curve of the earth. about 20 grand.
