I wondered how UPS fared in MPG with their brown trucks, and I found a 20-year old report from the US Energy Administration that tested CNG-powered UPS trucks vs diesel. The CNG-powered trucks got 8.5mpg, while the diesel trucks got 12.
If we’re gonna get terrible gas mileage at least throw some goddamn Coyotes in these fuckers!
If you do find something which doesn’t have a Simpsons reference, then there will be a Futurama one that will fit.
Is there any scenario that doesn’t have a relevant Simpsons reference?
You didn’t get the chicken analogy, to highbrow maybe. You don’t kill people who owe you money when you can still profit from them. It’s why banks don’t go out putting contract killers on people who owe loans. Especially when it actually wouldn’t be an easy win, and really fuck your shit up. You go on getting…
Here in Indiana the state cops will absolutely nail your ass for left lane squatting. I have seen this with my own eyes; I cheered.
OK Karen with the uncalibrated speedometer. The “fast lane” is a colloquialism. It is designed and built as a passing lane so faster traffic can clear slower traffic.
Yeah this is illegal in a lot of places. Other people have covered it but it’s depressing how many people don’t know this and sit in the left lane. It’s a big problem on bridges here.
With your thorough research, you’ve certainly won at the battle of laws here. You may be correct by the book but it doesn’t make you an less intolerable on the roadways. I guess we can agree to disagree.
Left lanes were invented to pass.
Found the left-lane blocking asshole. Get out of the way no matter what speed you are going.
California law is that slower traffic must stay to the right. Just like most other states, including mine. The speed limit is also a law, but completely independent of the left lane law and not conditional.
You absolutely will get ticketed to for impeding traffic if you sit on the left lane on an NJ highway. There’s a reason they post “Keep Righ Pass Left” signs every other mile on the roads here- they take that shit seriously. Jersey state police are pretty lenient about speeds- think left lane traffics flowing at…
In many states, including mine, the troopers will pull people over for sitting in the left lane even if they are doing the speed limit. The left lane is for passing. That’s the law.
While the Accord driver was no saint, that pickup truck driver camping out in the passing lane was also being an asshole.
As much as I hate left-lane squatters (like that Raptor), perhaps the best thing to do if you’re in that Accord is slow down and get in the right lane and chill, and maybe that driver blocking you will lose interest after a mile or so and let you pass.
Left lane squatting is, in fact, illegal in many places. It is difficult to enforce, but many states have “keep right except to pass” on the books. Pay attention on interstates, and you might see signs like this.
Using the left lane and not passing doesn’t break any laws?
