Freedom of speech means that the government cannot, in most cases, restrict what you say. Private citizens, on the other hand, are free to express their opinions by telling you that you're an asshole and by defacing your moronic MRA posters.

I think there is a lot of overlap between MRAs and white supremacy groups. It's all a bunch of whiny white dudes who can't stand the idea that women and minorities are gaining some of the rights that used to be exclusive to white men.

If the MRAs are actually trying to mobilize behind the issues raised on their posters and on their website — issues such as the number of male workplace deaths, for example — why aren't they leading seminars on workplace safety? If they're concerned with men and boys who are raped and sexually assaulted, why not ask

Didn't Julie Klausner already write pretty much this same article for Jezebel? http://jezebel.com/5810735/dont-fear-the-dowager-a-valentine-to-maturity

I think the results make sense. Beauty-focused STEM role models might give girls the message that not only to you have to be really smart and hard-working to succede in the sciences, you also have to be gorgeous and fashionable. It's too much pressure!

I could never really enjoy Wuthering Heights because Cathy and Heathcliff are both just such assholes.

We can't post pictures anymore? Or is it just on burner accounts? I haven't been able to log into my regular account since kinja was introduced.

It sounds like maybe you're hanging around the wrong group of ladies? None of my female friends talk at length about "wedding/babies/honeymoon/diet," or would meet friendly inquiries with silence and indifference.

I already said that having sex with an unconscious, nonconsenting person is sexual assault. Can you explain to me how it isn't?

Would you be okay with, say, your girlfriend pegging you with a strap-on while you're asleep?

No, rape happens when one person has sex with the other without their consent. Penetrating an unconscious person (assuming there is no prior agreement that this is ok) is sexual assault.

If what she says about waking up to him thrusting into her are true (and they didn't have a prior explicit agreement allowing this) than he absolutely is a rapist. Having sex with an unconscious person is sexual assault.
