I would vastly prefer that to the Crane Family Drama Hour.

Hawley was an annoyance but Henry's "redemption" might be what turns me off this show for good.
I don't actually dislike the character. I dislike the role the show is putting her in. Having her crush on The Flash while 'just not seeing what a great guy Barry is' is creepy NiceGuy BS. Having her get kidnapped and threatened and kept in the dark by men who talk about her like she doesn't have the capacity to make…
Isn't that what she was wearing in Purgatory last season?
Well that can't possibly work. We might forget she's a pretty lady if she starts wearing tee shirts …
If they wanted Hawley to be a love interest they shouldn't have introduced the fact that he's Jenny's exFWB; that's pretty off-putting. And while I agree that the supporting cast should expand, they shouldn't do it at the expense of the characters they already have.
I really hope they keep up with that; if she finds out about Barry in the next couple of episodes and gets a little more to do, I'll be happy.
Because the gaslit clueless love interest trope generally comes across as regressively sexist in a way I personally find offensive? "Designated girlfriend" characters always seem to get the short end of the stick when it comes to characterization, too (see also: Barbara on Gotham).
It's sad, but now I'm kind of dreading the return of Jenny, because you know they're going to go down the '2 sister's fighting over a MAN' path and it's going to be so terrible.
Are you SERIOUS?? I mean the fans were pretty clear about what they liked in the 1st season; none of them were saying "gosh I hope we get a dumb cliche in a vest to 'shake things up' with the Mills sisters!" How do writers write Poochies without realizing they are Poochies.
UUUUGGGHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH. (sorry.)
They had a rogueish, not-quite-good, artifact hunter with supernatural knowledge already: Jenny. All the scenes Hawley has had could've easily gone to her. So to me, it looks like they cut down her part in order to add a Bland Scruffy White Dude. Because lord knows we just don't have enough of those in our media.
What is the point of a story where we already know the ending, if we don't care about the characters involved?
So are you. So do most people, plane crashes and natural disasters notwithstanding.
I think it was just meant as a "you are important as you are" sort of moment.
Was anyone else hoping they'd play the sad-Hulk-walking-away music when Deathlok announced his intention to wander the countryside to atone for his misdeeds?
Yeah, Tony wasn't a big fan of SHIELD but he sure as shit isn't going to roll over for the US gubmint.
I KNOW. It's CRAZY. I blame the parents, for giving them both 'J' names.
I disagree. I don't think he has any more input then allowing them to use his name at this point.
Joss Whedon isn't in charge of this show. It's amazing to me that people still act like he is. This show is being brought to us by his brother, his brother's wife and the Powers of Hollywood Nepotism.
