Same here. I like food, but I like not wasting money more. If a restaurant only has the same, tired, overdone classics—bruschetta, pulled pork sliders, roast chicken, something something braised short rib—I want to know beforehand so I can make alternative plans.

I don’t think I’m seeing what you’re seeing. I know most of Fultz’s shots in this video are catch-and-shoots, but Steph’s pull-up form is based on using the last dribble itself to bring the ball up to a height where he can shoot it.

He’s active on the court, but from the very little footage of actual shooting they showed, his jumper still looks like a weird push/set shot that he starts at chest-high.  He’s pushing with his wrist rather than snapping it.

That’s...not fixing anything.

Honestly, I would only sweat this if Kawhi, or Giannis, or Embiid started doing it.

The Rockets won’t get out of R2 (if even R1), so it shouldn’t affect the playoffs too much. And I never watch Rockets games on League Pass because their broadcast team is homerifically terrible, easily bottom-10 and arguably bottom-5.

Answer: Football Manager 2020. Best way to grow your beard out for the better party of a week.

I will bring Parma back to its former glory days!

I hear their Mexican sister club goes by the name, Multi-Level Monuments” (MLMs)

As part of the Television Critics Association 2019 summer press tour, the actors who bring Philadelphia’s most debauched citizens to life host a panel and set visit, which is an incredibly organized affair given the Gang’s state of affairs.

You’re wrong, man. Playing for an Amway-backed organization, Okeke should think of this as an opportunity: he can go to G-League with that contract and sign up other G-League distributors!

(No seriously, the Magic really need point guards)

“Giannis is a player currently contracted to the Bucks that many say is very good at basketball. He is Greek of Nigerian decent. He recently played in the FIBA World Cup in China where he put the ball through the basketball ring several times in the game-meetings. He has two years left on his contract. Teams looking

Hey letter writer, you’re really missing out. As an Amurican, I like to think of my interactions with my server as a chance to indulge in pointless sloganeering, performative chumminess, and casual (but definitely hypothetical) gun violence.

This is pretty neat and I’d like to take a closer look at the graph--do you a link for that?  Thanks!

Good lord. At what point would Deadspin consider creating a tag “NOT INJURIES” for football-related stories?

She’s the wilted baby spinach version of Sarah Huckasanders!

Agreed. This just seems like such a weird hill to die on, even if it’s really more intended as a (very) ham-fisted way to talk about Bochy’s managerial greatness.

I think the disdain for Olive Garden—and all family-style chains—stems from those ill-informed people who (usually loudly) proclaim it to be some kind of authentic, revelatory experience. Or because some unimaginative guy in the party (Uncle Jeff) picks this place to eat because it’s “safe” when there’s 10 other

“First time a [derogatory term for Asians] playedbig’ and ‘scored inside,’ amirite? Lorne knows what I’m talking about.”

Thanks for these past three years, Kevin, and especially for making The Takeout into a site for those who also see food as: 1) good; 2) a way to enrich our lives in other ways. There’s been a lot of excellent, thoughtful, and useful writing here in the past few years, and I’m excited to see how this evolves based on

Add cranberries to it. Apple-Cranberry pies are great in the fall, and I love that mix of sweet & tart.

Places in New England make it on the regular in the fall—I got mine from Bishop’s Orchards in Connecticut—but I wish it would be made regularly and not by special order in other places.
