Hinkie was hired 2.5 years ago, because the previous GM traded away the best player on that playoff team for Andrew Bynum.

you should therefore advocate teams always trading top 3 picks rather than using them to select

That’s way more than they had 2.5 years ago (not 4) when Hinkie took over. Sam Hinkie didn’t trade Iguodala for Bynum, which decimated this team.

Surprise onside kicks are effective around 20% of the time, so they are probably an underused strategy. It was a nice play by the eagles guy to fall on the football, and really only a difference of like 15 yards in expected field position. Results based analysis at its finest coming from the media.

Hilarious. +1

The best part of these posts is watching other NBA fans completely bewildered at Sixers fans’ patience. A huge portion (if not the majority) of the fanbase wanted to implement this strategy years before Hinkie was ever hired.

Last year, Deadspin mocked the Covington acquisition. Now you’re admitting he’s a solid acquisition. You should either shut your mouth, or start being correct.

If only the Sixers hired a conventional GM, they'd be threatening the Cavs for Eastern Conference supremacy. How did the Sixers allow Hinkie to ruin what Tony DiLeo built?

Good question — the answer is yes, because people are idiots
