I simply do not understand why Mazda doesn’t have a larger market share. Their cars consistently look better than, well, everything for sale right now, are fun to drive, and are affordable.
It’s easier to a) control mpg by controlling the timing of gear changes and b) it’s easier to make a torque converter for a heavy car that can handle a lot of torque than to make a clutch that can handle the same amount of torque (both manual transmission and dual clutch autos).

No one’s saying modern autos are bad, just that manuals are still way more fun! Even in cities, though I know many wouldn’t agree.
I like the mesh pattern on this grille a little better than the 2017 design with the bars, but I still think the chrome trim moving above the headlights looks a little bit better than this refresh. It’s still a looker overall, and that turbo engine is... hmmmm..... delicious.
